Love Letters 2 Strangers

The above quotes are by Ashley Green the founder of 
 Love Letters 2 Strangers. 
She was raised in a loving home and blessed with a mother given to writing loving notes.  Knowing how wonderful it felt to receive a note, Ashley began leaving them for people she met. The bus driver, coffee server, bank teller, people who looked sad and people who looked happy. She keeps small pieces of paper at the ready in her purse. Sometimes she leaves them randomly, in books, on shelves or benches.


The idea has really taken off and she even runs joy filled workshops  for people who struggle to come up with something appropriate to write. For those of us who can't make the workshops, she has a website full of ideas.


There is also feedback from people who have received the notes. Ashley is not out to make money, in fact she received a grant from Edmonton Awesome Foundation because, yes, they thought her idea was AWESOME.

This Valentines Day step up and leave a love letter for a stranger. It would be a beautiful thing to do.

    A kind word goes far in lifting people's spirits. I have often used a note to tell those people in my life know how much they mean to me. It does not take many words and all you have to do is open your heart.

    This is what it should be about! I'm all about scrapping the chocolate and doing this! What a fantastic way to pay it forward! Thank you for this post! I am going to look into her work and teach my little beans to do things like this!

    This is such a wonderful thing to do. So many people get caught up in so much stress and worry. I'm sure it would do their hearts good to see a kind note.

      Good for you Rosemary. When we moved I left notes in mailboxes, along my favourite walk, thanking owners for their beautiful gardens.

    This is far preferable for the commercialised Valentine's Day we currently have. I love my husband every day (not just Valentine's) and show that love all the time but to show love to a stranger would be a braver task - and could change a life!

    Susan, this is so funny that you have this post as it was a post that I had thought about putting on my blog, but never got around to it... I discovered "love letters" when I watched a Jeff Probst show, and I actually went to the website and offered to be a writer, but they never got back to me and I was a little disappointed about that... however, I had thought that it was such a great idea and was trying to come up with a way to do a "snail mail" kind of thing just like it, not in the capacity of this one, however, just the fact that there is just something so special about actually physically receiving a lovely letter in your mail! Okay... I am rambling on here... Cheers~
