R and R

Commuting across the Rockies, house hunting, learning new technical skills and planning my new website have left me drained. Time for some R and R.

While in Calgary our smallest homo sapiens took us to the zoo. We were allowed a brief stop at the penguins

before spending a riveting week or so at the playground. Finally we were reluctantly given permission to move on to the elephants.
You can never get too close to the back of an elephant

Don't worry, it's fake.

Work completed we dragged through the airport yet again. How do people do this all the time. I am convinced it must shorten ones life.  Then the ferry, where as usual I got weepy at the sight of the sea.
Immediately crawled into bed so it wasn't until the next morning we realized, in our absence, Spring had arrived.
In the garden at the front of the house (the part I don't control)
Of course, I go in there anyway
Long walks along the beach are now the order of the day

Lang Bay
or hiking.
Valentine Mountain

Wishing you all a restful and restorative Easter.

  1. Susan, So happy to hear spring has showed her face. We have enjoyed a cold spring rain today. Hoping the sun is shining for Easter. Don't you just adore penguins? I hope you get to rest this weekend. Happy Easter. Bonnie

  3. Getting away is wonderful, but, as they say, "There is no place like home".

There are signs of spring here and I expect the blooming to start this week. It can't come too soon.

  4. Your signs of spring are lovely. And I hope you get some good R and R. It all can be exhausting sometimes.

  5. Lovely spring pictures from your part of the world! And I'm happy to know someone else who gets teary-eyed at seeing the sea.
