Mini Monet

It has been a joy to have family here all summer. Now the last of the visitors has returned home. No more hugs from grown up children and sweet toddler kisses. It has only been two days and I ache for their voices, their smell, the warmth of their bodies. Good job the in laws have invited us for a few days on their boat.  So tomorrow we will be up with the lark (or seagull) and head for Desolation Sound. I'll leave you with pictures of the garden at the Wildwood Nursery in Powell River.

The sun was shining, birds singing, bees buzzing and butterflies floating. Priceless.

  1. Be still my beating heart - what wonderful pictures of a beautiful garden - Wildwood seems a very appropriate name. Enjoy the boat trip.

  2. I adore the scent of buddleia, but what's the interesting flower below it?

    1. This is my best guess, Mary, Cupids Dart cultivar Catananche caerulea ‘Alba’. It self seeds but not robustly. I liked it and may use it in my cutting garden whenever I get around to having a cutting garden. Got to sort out the veggies first.

  7. That must be a very tough transition from having had all the family home. Hoping your trip away will ease the ache. Meantime you've left us with some beautiful photos.

  8. Inspiring images-- all abloom! Feeling very like late summer here. Maybe because I don't water the lawn... I know that empty feeling after children leave. I bet they loved the visits too, making great memories. I hope you had a fabulous time on the boat!

  11. Oh my, the colors and the flowers are amazing.

My garden is mostly green right now, but some mums look like they will be blooming soon.

Every summer I dream of a beautiful garden and every year, something gets in the way - this year it is a puppy.

Maybe next year I will have something half as lovely as your Monet Garden.
