The Winner Is...

Hang on... first things first and I decide what goes first. The wedding was wonderful. Small, meaningful, beautiful and fun. Family and friends went skating on the Bow River the night before the wedding.

This is Will with his sister. She was his best (wo)man. Will made a little speech at the supper following skating. He said, until he met Kate, his sister had always been his best girl. You can be sure the moment is tucked away in this mother's heart. The hat the groom is wearing was knitted by Kate's sister. She was the bridesmaid. What a doll, she radiated love for her sister.

The wedding photos will have to wait. I was so busy being mother of the groom I didn't get the shots I wanted.

Now down to the real business of the day-the draw was very scientific, I had a scientist stick his paw into a bowl of rolled up strips of paper and pull out....

The winner of a pendant is Tammy at Casa Mariposa. Although I would love for all of you to have won, it is fitting it goes to CM, the first blog I began reading when I entered blogging world. Her blog is informative (this gal knows her stuff), very funny and sometimes equally moving.

On my list today-inspect the fruit trees for tent caterpillar egg sacs and watch as much of the Olympics as time allows.

  1. Did you notice how fast the day went? Congratulations to the happy couple and to you, the new mother-in-law. It is a nice title to have, no matter the jokes that have been said. I will be looking forward to seeing some pictures.

  7. Dear Susan,
It doe indeed sound as if it was a wonderful wedding. I laughed when you wrote about being mother of the groom. I remember my own mother (in her role of mother-of-the-bride) rushing around a lot at my sisters' weddings.

    1. I have to admit to being very anxious. The banner photo is the view from my back door. I count my blessings every day.

  10. Hi Susan, I haven't visited for a while, but congrats on the wedding and so pleased it went well. Lovely that your kids are so close. Reading about skating on a river makes me feel envious. I only did it once - in upstate New York, and it was heaven, so much better than a rink. And congrats to Tammy!
