I always intend to post on Mondays but life and lack of discipline quickly puts an end to my best intentions. How kind my faithful readers are to accept my erratic ways. What has been keeping me busy this time...
The fabulous daughter was out for a rest.
The sun room/ junk room/potting shed was cleaned out.
Bulbs were moved
The pantry was organised
Order from chaos was achieved in her father's office/art room/bottomless pit.

no, he doesn't play with dolls, I have no idea how they got in there |
The foundation was completed and the greenhouse was erected-grand opening to follow
Well rested she took her leave
|
I was very brave and did not cry (in public) |
What a whirlwind! Do you think your daughter would like to come over this way for a weekend - I have just those same areas that need a thorough going-over!
ReplyDeleteIf she ever gives up her day job I'll send her over.
DeleteGood golly! I would hate to see what she could get done when she wasn't resting! Aren't you lucky?! (Can't wait to see the greenhouse....)
ReplyDeleteShe is a clone of her paternal grandmother, I'm a sloth compared to those two. Greenhouse is getting a gravel floor today and then the grand opening.
DeleteOh how wonderful to have her visit and rest/relax with you! :)
ReplyDeleteI swear we tried to get her to rest, she is just one of those high energy people.
DeleteI don't cry in front of my daughter when she leaves, anymore. I wait until I'm driving away from the airport. And then I take a picture of my ugly cry and send it to her. Lol.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Mom.
DeleteWow, a lot was accomplished. Wish she was here lol!
ReplyDeleteKelly
Only thing is I had to keep up with her!
DeleteI feel that I need to relax now just looking at what your daughter accomplished - what a whirl wind of energy is has.
ReplyDeleteShe has an amazing amount of energy. The day she flew home she had a soccer game scheduled for the evening.
DeleteYou were a very busy lady and got much accomplished with the help of your daughter. All those with daughters know how lucky we are.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that is part of the secret of having great daughters-we acknowledge the joy they bring.
DeletePoor girl she must have needed a rat when she got home - how helpful she is - you are one lucky mum.
ReplyDeleteMy computer decided that rat was a better word than rest.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Elaine, she has a small person at home who can be a little rat every now and then.
DeleteAre you sure she left rested? ;o) But sometimes the best rest is quiet work, as strange as that may seem. You are so lucky to have a greenhouse!
ReplyDeleteOur son will be out in April, I'm thinking trimming our monster hedge might be restorative for him.
DeleteSometimes working hard is just the kind of "rest" we need. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI think the fresh air did her a world of good.
DeleteWhat a well brought up young lady... I can only hope that my two daughters turn out to have the same energy and zest for helpfulness when they return to the nest!!!
ReplyDeleteCould you write a book on how you just did that????
Wren x
She takes after her wonderful paternal grandmother who had a huge influence on her so I can't take much credit. I don't have a book but a friend and I have a mother of the year award we pass back and forth when we do something off the wall in the parenting dept.
