Indefatigable

The town has an influx of seriously fit young men and women. Logger sports is in full swing.

Not only the young but some tough old guys, grizzled veterans of the backwoods, giving the young pups a run for their money.

Speaking of young pups-our little girls are very smart little things but bathroom skills are a mystery to them despite what the shelter said. They fight a lot and seem uninterested in toys. is this a product of shelter life I wonder?

At home new fencing is up, brussel sprouts are transplanted, cabbage moth caterpillars have got in the greenhouse- grrr- and this baby flowered for the first time since we moved here.

I didn't know what it was so posted to our handy dandy garden facebook page. I'm sure you all know it is a yucca. Our local know-it-all couldn't pass up the opportunity to give me the name, tell me what I should be doing with the entire bed and describe her far superior garden. She sits on a prodigious number of boards mostly as dictator chairman. Thing is, she is willing to do it when many are not and I certainly cannot fault her devotion to her causes.

Off to logger sports this afternoon, I will be standing well back from the Novice Axe Throw.

  1. Definitely stand back lol. Don't you hate busy bodies? I refuse to belong to any groups because of them - they take ALL the fun out of life.

Don't you just love the Garden Know-it-alls? So quick to correct you when you identify a Thingamajigium as a Thingamagastia..........they fairly puff up through the ether!

    1. Fortunately she is too busy to be in garden club. Her puffing would not go down well there.

  3. Whoa! Just the name, "Novice Axe Throw" gives me the willies. I used to have a yucca plant and I loved the flowers. Best to do is ignore the KIAs - because they don't know it all. Your pups will take a fair bit of settling down and finding their way - it's always bumpy at the beginning!
