The Perfect Nest

I'm sure regular readers are asking themselves, with some impatience, "How slow can this woman be at decluttering?"

Here is my idea of a perfect nest, Exhibit A

Common blackbird

Here is my husband's idea of a perfect nest, Exhibit B

Grebe

We live in a bungalow and long ago I declared the main floor my domain and by default gave Dr. Bob the garage and basement. Thus A upstairs, B downstairs. This week by superhuman effort, much of downstairs has been transformed from B to A.

Several times during the process my husband accused me of wanting this:

Three eggs, bluish with black speckling, sit atop a layer of white mollusk shells pieces, surrounded by sandy ground and small bits of bluish stone.
Plover

Next time around I'm coming back as a bird, tidy or untidy, eagle or hummingbird I don't care, for unlike human pairings each species agrees on the perfect nest.

  1. So - let's get this straight - you like tidy - husband is untidy and he thinks you want minimalist or to get rid of him altogether. Have I interpreted the code correctly?

  3. I have the same dilemma - I won't even go into our garage anymore!

    1. Sorry to hear you are a fellow sufferer.
Avoidance is the only strategy which seems to work.

  4. I'm not a total A but would qualify as a very high B+. I once shared a classroom with another teacher who had the neatness of a tornado. She drove me insane. But too much clutter makes me itchy so I feel your pain. A box of garbage bags, a vacuum cleaner, and a very large bottle of wine will help you make it through. Too bad the good dr doesn't have a nice long out of state conference to attend. Then you could clean in peace. :o)

    1. I used to share a desk with a neat freak. I preferred spending time with my patients rather than tidying my desk.

  5. Sorry, but I think I would like the grebe's nest too. I am sure it has something to do with being waterfront property.
