Easter Egg Hunt

Last Saturday  Easter Bunny volunteers were at the community field bright and early.
Chief bunny (R) with bunny helper
The Easter goat tagged along
with the sheep.

The grand poo bah was inflated and secured for photo ops.

Thousands of eggs were strewn far and wide.

550+ determined children waited anxiously.
Could there be eggs behind this tree?

5 minutes was all it took to clean the field. Plastic eggs were handed in for loot bags. No tears or fights-good for you, kids. Volunteers went home for a nap, content that good memories had been made.

Congrats to Chief Bunny Patti who pulls this together every year.

  3. Because there is an 11 year difference between my oldest and youngest child, I was at Easter egg hunts for 20 years. Then I had grandchildren and the tradition continued. Next year will be my last as the youngest child who lives near me will turn 10. I hate endings.

  5. I wrote a comment this morning, but I see I must not have published it. Those things happen at this point in life. However, I really liked the post and colorful pictures. It was a pick-me-up..

    1. Absolutely not something you did. My highly paid editorial staff, that would be me, were a little slow this week.

  6. Wow... they should send the children out to do litter picking or weed clearing if it only takes 5 mins to clear a field of eggs! Ha ha!
Looks like you all had fun Susan :-)

  7. Oh, I love the lamb picture! Sounds like the kids had an excellent time. We had an egg hunt in the north field a couple of years ago but, by the time the hunt was over, it was 80+ degrees. Most of the official egg hiders (men in the family) refused to do it again unless there's a big cold front and they know in advance. Hummm.....

    1. Men are destined for certain roles. In our case it was to stare down the ten yr old boys as they waited for the signal.
