The owners (for another three days) of our tiny, tiny farm allowed us to put in a garden ahead of time. The garden has not been worked for a few years but the bones are there. We've only had time to prepare and plant one bed. I was jumping up and down with excitement. It has been a long dark year without a garden of my own. So here is the happy day.
Where am I? My husband might say, and often does, I have a strong streak of "lady of the manor". Giving the orders to the rustic head gardener etc. Do you detect a surly demeanour in the last shot? The truth is I have sprained my thumb which, I will have you know, is very painful and incapacitating. Despite the splint I bravely worked the camera.
Someone has to do the hard work so it's a good thing you were still up for it, even with the wonky thumb!
ReplyDeleteThe surly gardener has no idea how easy he had it.
DeleteI understand completely.. Happy planting.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Sympathy from the surly gardener has decreased since he became chief digger.
DeleteIt looks like you have some great soil there! Happy gardening!
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be good soil under all the weeds. I have to discover the local fauna. Something has nibbled a few of the bush bean seedlings.
DeleteEnjoy the new garden!
ReplyDeleteThe next year will be one of discovery, hopefully nothing too alarming.
DeleteHow wonderful to be able to work a garden already!! Rest that thumb.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound very exciting - and I think working the camera is a very important job!
