We lose our water supply when the electric pump in the well shuts off. A power outage for us means sitting in the front of the stove by candlelight while we negotiate toilet flushing rights. A powerful storm blew in Friday night. Nothing for it but to enjoy the ambience. We went to bed with torrential rain drumming on the roof. I thought of the Hydro workers who had left their families to go out into the storm, cold, wet and buffeted by winds to restore our power. Thanks guys.
I heard about the power outages up your way. We have had no outages this winter. Nonetheless, as soon as the wind blows I fill some pots and the kettle. We are also on a well and lose our water. We have a gas stove though, so as long as there's water and coffee or tea I am happy to snuggle by the wood stove.
