A new gal was organising the Fall Fair and she did an outstanding job including camping on the site for a week in her little Airstream.

She said it was cozy and quiet and she had her dog for company |

My friend Julia's flower stall. She is from Columbia and sounds like Gloria from Modern Family. Sometimes she gives me plants and I don't have a clue what they are because I can't understand her accent. |

Made by a 14yr old. There was a lot of excellent sewing in the Junior section |

The Lego section was new this year and proved popular. Not surprised to see someone entered a ferry scene. Its comings and goings, or lack of, control our lives. |
I was working at the library booth.
Not as sedate as one might expect. In fact I must skedaddle out of here for a strategy meeting. Coming soon
Library Wars.
I never seem to be in Powell River for Fall Fair weekend any more. Thanks for the views. - Margy
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome.
DeleteSo many nice things to see and admire. That quilt is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like that these young women are interested in the domestic arts.
DeleteLooks like such an extraordinary fair! And I love that your friend gives you plants! I was blown away by that piece made by the 14 year old girl....what a gift to have been taught how to sew at such a young age! Wishing you a lovely week friend! Nicole xo
ReplyDeleteI agree, being taught to sew and knit is a gift.
Deletesince we've moved here I have yet to get to any of the fall fairs. I'm always so busy with other things though I always make my shop at the local farmer's market a priority on Saturday mornings. Next year for certain I MUST get to one or two of the local fall fairs.
ReplyDeleteThe Comox fair is very good.
DeleteWhat a lovely traditional fair! I love the idea of the Lego section, to encourage the children to join in !
ReplyDeleteThe lego competition caused quite a bit of excitement among the younger crowd. Also nice to see children still enter chickens and bunnies.
DeleteIt's amazing that a 14 year old girl can sew a quilt so nicely. Your friend's flower stall looks great, I love those Asters and of cours last picture, haha........
ReplyDeleteI love the picture, so glad a found a use for it.
DeleteI love country fairs and miss the one I would go to as a child. I entered my sewing and cookies as a child so I appreciate the work on that quilt...never got that far with my sewing.
ReplyDeleteI might enter something next year, I think my tomatoes could have been prizewinners. Of course next year they may let me down.
