A lot of pies

"You have your fingers in a lot of pies"
a fellow garden club board member said the other day. Rich, considering she manoeuvred me on to the board and she was the one desperate  for dishwashers at Christmas.

This week I helped with a grant application, a fund raising pamphlet, updated the volunteer list for the library, did a two hour shift at Seedy Saturday, delivered manure to the nursing home for the resident garden (a very nice young man, visiting his "Poppy", hauled the stuff from car to greenhouse), had the first meeting of Grow Some and updated the social media sites for both GC and the library.

In between gallivanting around town we picked up a trailer of fish manure and shovelled it around the fruit trees and bushes during a short break in the rain. Then I discovered they had given us the wrong product!!! Fish mulch not manure-the difference being way less fish and a whole lot of wood chips.

I had to calm down by hacking away at some brush.

Throw in the time change and I believe I'm  ready for a spa day.

Sadly for the pies, I'm cutting back to spend more time in the garden (and spa). A girl has to get her priorities straight.

  1. I see we have more than our names in common - we both have the inability to say, "no". Love your spa model... :)

  2. Sounds like a spa day is just what you need. Where do you go? Sometimes I wish I was closer to town to do more things, but maybe it's better to watch what you wish for. - Margy

  4. Good heavens - you've had your fingers in a lot of pies.....and then in dishwater and fish manure too. You are SO right - time for a spa....and fast.

  5. It is that busy, busy, busy time of the year for people who love to garden. You sure have taken on a quite a load of work, but I have a feeling you enjoy it all.

  6. Whew! You didn't mention if you managed to sleep as well. Incredibly cute funny pic. Enjoy the garden and brush hacking - and the spa. If I don't manage to garden after a while I get twitchy withdrawal symptoms that magically evaporate after a bit of digging or pruning.

    1. We are just into that rude awakening when we spring from our winter dormancy into full scale garden prep. Some craziness involved from the sheer joy of doing something in the garden.
