You can, apparently, never spend too long looking at planks of wood. Now I know what it feels like to wait for me in the garden centre. When it comes to utility grade no one checks-you just put it in your vehicle and tell them in the office how much you took. You can also have as many cedar chips as you want for free.
One down, nine more to go.
Your green grass is looking awful good right now. I'd like to build a few when the snow melts.
ReplyDeleteThe grass is the winter rye we planted last fall as a cover crop. It sprang back into life about two weeks ago.
Delete10 raised beds, wow, you are ambitious. Four is all I can handle.
ReplyDeleteThere were ten beds in the original garden. We are just starting to restore them. A lot of soil has washed away so building them up will be the next project.
DeleteOh this is fantastic! I can't wait to see them all! Happy gardening pal! Nicole xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to be back in the garden.
DeleteThere is nothing quite as exciting as a 'blank' raised bed! Just think - 9 more!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is the temporary feeling of satisfaction before the reality of planting, weeding and slug wars.
DeleteI can see you are going to have great fun with your nine beds - can't wait to see the results.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if we will get all ten finished this year, if we get half that planted I'll be happy.
DeleteI would love to have raised beds for planting a vegetable garden, but we don't have the space.
ReplyDeleteGood luck finishing all 10.
The carpenter is not optimistic regarding getting ten done this year.
DeleteI know this is an odd comment but I like the way the raised beds were built with notched corners. I've never seen that done.
ReplyDeleteMy husband will be thrilled you noticed.
DeleteThen be sure and tell him I'm a girl so he'll be REALLY impressed. He would expect a guy to notice that.
Deleteraised flower beds are so nice. We used to have a large area with a raised flower bed but two years ago tore it out. The wood was old and rotting and we turned it into a rose garden.
ReplyDeleteThe wood had been taken of these beds too. Don't tempt me with roses, they are my passion. What roses did you put in?
DeleteYou've been much busier than I've been with my garden. This week I hope to get my potatoes, onions and seeds in. I ordered some quinoa to see if it will work on the hill where the water is limited. I really don't need extra potatoes from up there. - Margy
