M Day

Bambi brought his Mom over for a Mother's Day Brunch of grape hyacinth.  I chose it for its deer resistant attributes. It made such a graceful statement following the curve of the long driveway. Sigh.

Bambi also stuck his hooves all over two of my new beds. Undeterred the digging continues even on M day.

many more in progress
Fortunately there were treats:

Supper overlooking Okeover Arm

Soaking in a warm bath of oatmeal, rosemary, sage, salvia, cucumber and sunflower seed oil from Crabtree and Evelyn's Gardeners Collection.

A good day to count my blessings.

  1. Oh deer! You do have your own set of particular problems don't you. The raised beds are coming on a treat.

    1. I'm fond of the deer too. They are welcome in the meadow anytime. Maybe I should plant some flowers in there for them.

    1. Bunnies and baby deer are just so darn cute. I'm willing to share but they need to understand- my garden, my rules.

  5. You have problems with Bambi - I want you to know that all the Grape Hyacinth in my yard were eaten on Sunday by the resident Ground Hog! JC

  6. That is a shame about the deer and your grape hyacinths and beds. The bath sounds wonderfully fragrant and relaxing and the view over the lake is lovely.

    1. I'm going to have to learn to live with my four footed neighbours. Meanwhile I'm planning to plant tons of lavender, I've been told they don't like the scent.
